Red Sea Dive Resorts - Marsa Alam

"Marsa really blew us away. We were one of the lucky ones who saw a hammerhead and turtles on almost every dive and we swam with about 50 dolphins. Special thanks to all the Emperor team. As a family of divers, it's great to have that peace of mind when booking a trip; you really do get that extra special treatment with Emperor."
The Bradshaw Family, England

The location just couldn't be better and the facilities at Emperor's dive centre are second-to-none. Based in the Coral Beach Marina Lodge, you are literally just a few metres away from our boats moored on the hotel jetty and the airport is just a 10-minute drive away.

Enjoy some fabulous day dives to the famous reefs of Elphinstone, Marsa Mubarak and Dolphin House Reef (Shaab Samadai), where there is a good chance to see dolphins in this beautiful protected National Park. The bays here are home to excellent corals, large turtles and Guitar rays and the islands off Marsa Alam are a highlight of the area.

However, as from 16 May 2007, the bay at Marsa Abu Dabab has been closed to all water-based activities, including diving and snorkelling, in order to protect the resident dugong (sea cow) population. Concern over the threat to their continued presence has led to this decision by the Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association (HEPCA). We are sure, like us, you can empathise with this decision as a necessary means to protect this endangered species.

There are still a myriad of places to see and things to do, whether it's day diving, doing one of the trips below, learning to dive or taking your diving further, you will find the award-winning team at Emperor Marsa Alam ready to give you a warm welcome.

Dive Centre
"It's the first time I've dived abroad without some of my own dive buddies and found it a very easy experience since the boats were never crowded and the dives were all well organised. The convenience of the hotel, dive centre, boats and short trips to the dive sites was even better than I expected and just what I needed to relax after a busy period of work."
Ann-Marie Jamieson and Seonaidh, Scotland

Gary Ball
Marsa Alam Dive Centre Manager
(& Louise Kraechter)

I was born in Liverpool, England, and started diving when I was 13 years old after discovering a local BSAC club who got me hooked on diving in the UK. Along with (my much better half) Louise, I manage the Emperor Divers Marsa Alam Centre.

Since becoming a professional diver I have worked in Cyprus and have gained the PADI Staff Instructor, EFRI and TDI Advanced Deco qualifications. Louise is also a PADI Staff Instructor and EFRI.

Being from Liverpool I speak basic English :-) whilst Louise has German origins and conversational German. Whilst I was working in England I worked in the transport industries from driving to fleet manager but all of my spare time was spent working as a DM for local dive centers.

Together with Louise here at Marsa Alam, I am responsible for the daily running of a busy yet friendly centre. Previous guests have become good friends and hopefully many more will. I truly enjoy diving and teaching in the Red Sea as you just never know what will turn up. What makes Marsa a special place to work is the dive team we have here, the guides, boat crew and ground support staff all enjoy their jobs and this makes for a great atmosphere.
